Subaru

Many people know that Japan manufacturers Subaru cars. Country of the rising sun is famous for its automotive concerns which please their consumers with excellent quality and affordable price. Subaru is one of the few Japanese automobile brands which production doesn`t go beyond the borders of Japan. Many competitors of Subaru try to develop their markets by opening subsidiaries worldwide. As a rule, such an approach has a negative impact on quality of cars as many consumers try to acquire cars with a cherished label Made in Japan. However, Subaru practically doesn`t have negative feedbacks.

History of Subaru started in 1958 when Japanese concern Fuji Heavy Industries developed a passenger vehicle. The first model of the concern was called Subaru 360. It presented a four-seat car with two doors, integrated body and engine of 20 horsepower. In 1969 the model was replaced by a front-drive vehicle R-2 that also had a great success in the market of Japan. After appearance of this car dream of many Japanese who wanted to have an auto was realized.

After success of the company in producing mini-cars manufacturing of a revolutionary model Subaru 100 began. Apart from very original silhouette with slanting boot lid the model had front drive and opposed four-cylinder engine with a working volume of 997 cubic centimeters producing 67 horsepower. Thanks to original design, low center of gravity and completely independent suspension the car was characterized by excellent performance on roads.

In 1966 the first car called Subaru 1000 complemented with transmission that presents distinguishing feature of modern Subaru cars system of front drive combined with horizontally opposed engine was produced. System of front drive presented technology developed by many car producers. The system attracted consumers with stunning characteristics of manageability and stability on roads. By choosing horizontally opposed engine and placing engine along the axis of cars Subaru achieved the targeted goal and created its own concept of car construction: ideally symmetrical on both sides engine with system of front drive. In 1983 one-volume minibus Subaru Domingo made its debut. This model allowed not only to place seven passengers in a quite compact body but also transform seats by means of rotating and folding armchairs which were developed in Japan for the first time.

Starting production of the model Subaru Legacy in 1989 Subaru made its first step to the market of 2-liter cars. In 1992 the company started to manufacture the model Subaru Impreza that was more compact than Legacy but possessed sporty features. In 2003 Subaru offered a new brand Think, Feel, Drive that presented automobile ideals of the company intellect and sensitivity. It means that Subaru aspires to create high quality car that gives a driver pleasure.
